Pick a Path....Pick my Blog!

Creativity is the use of your head, your hands, your body, your voice, your mind and your heart, to create something new. Recently, technology has been added to this to enable us to create things that were not once possible. Creativity empowers learners and the use of digital technology can support this.

The image below is a visual to support Manaikalani's Create Pedagogy. Creativity is an effective tool to hook both students and teachers into learning tasks. The image resonates with me as it is easy to assume that Manaikalani is only based around the use of technology. However, it is the creative process of learning and doing that important. Creative tasks are essential for our students as it assists them in becoming better problem solvers, communicators and collaborators. It allows them to explore and discover original ideas and in turn, a true sense of ownership over their learning.

I have enjoyed learning about and then creating a Pick a Path activity today using Google Slides. I have been using Google Slides for a number of years, but I never knew or thought about creating this type of activity/learning task with them. I am looking forward to sharing this with my students and getting them to create their own. I can see these being valuable for create tasks during reading, writing and maths.

Below is my Pick a Path follow up activity to support a maths goal that I am currently teaching.
